RE: CPAP Restart Problem
Just to add to the above comments, a person diagnosed with complex apnea or central apnea will move to bilevel therapy, because that is what insurance requires. In most cases, bilevel without a backup will result in much worse AHI for those individuals. Insurance requires that they fail CPAP and BPAP before they can be tried on a bilevel with backup rate or the adaptive servo ventilator (ASV).
I'm not going to get into that detail because you have a very low incidence of CA events, and I only mention the risk of increased CA with the use of EPR out of an abundance of caution and to make you aware of the possibility. We are only concerned if the increase is significant and does not resolve the target problems of flow limitations and hypopnea. There is nothing in your current results to suggest a treatment onset complex apnea.
