RE: Side-sleeper pillows
What type of pillow would you recommend for a stomach sleeper? RockApe sleeps on his stomach with a really squishy down pillow scrunched up with arms wrapped around it. That did not work last night with is Opus nasal pillow mask. Sleeping on back or side is not favorite due to back pain.

RE: Side-sleeper pillows
The "squishy-ness" may be the problem. It allows your head to compress into the pillow thus pushing on the mask with the area that doesn't compress. You might consider a buckwheat pillow. You can control the thickness by adding or removing the buckwheat fill and it doesn't compress like a normal pillow. This allows me to create a divot (push the pillow away) from the mask area if it's interfering.

Thanks for the tip. I tend to be very picky about pillows, and in general, don't like memory foam *or* overly soft pillows. I like support, but also conformity. I ordered a Papillow from their own site, but covers were spotty. I didn't want the plain white cover, but the patterned covers were all out of stock.

If the plan covers are cotton, they can be dyed.

RE: Side-sleeper pillows
This thread made me change my down pillow to the other side of the bed and use my buckwheat. It was more comfortable but I'm not sure that the leak rate changed. However, I didn't have to do a mask adjustment at any stage so maybe this is working better.

Allergy free, no dust mites, etc. VERY cool sleeping, no compression, etc. Love mine. |
