What mask are you using? Some have an adjustment on the forehead that alleviates the nose issue. In any case it sounds like a "fitting" issue. You might also consider going to a different sort of mask altogether such as a "pillows" mask.

That doesn't sound like a super idea to me..... I used the nasal mask to begin with and it did ok, but I thought I'd like to try the nasal pillows (ResMed Swift FX). I like it fine. I am by nature a "mouth breather" so that's supposed to be contra-indicated for the pillows. but I'm using a "chin strap" to help keep my big mouth shut, and I'm doing fine. If you have breathing issues where you just can't breath through your nose, then I would think the full mask might be the right idea, but perhaps you don't have the right full mask. Again, it seems to me this is a "fitting" issue.

You should try a hybrid mask. Delivers the same therapy as a full face mask, but is easier to fit without leakage. It's basically a nasal mask plus an oral mask. See our Supplier List here: http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-...plier-List.

Go to the website of Supplier #1 and search for hybrid masks. It'll give you an idea of what they look like. Then you can ask your equipment provider if they can get you one.

Do you know why your doctor prescribed a full face mask instead of a nasal mask?

RE: CPAP problems
DonDiegoDeLaVega, welcome, can you tell us the brand and model of mask, your nose eventually gets used to it as long as you don't develop sores.
Try loosening the mask straps a little and when I was getting it I used a small bit of material in between the mask and your nose, similar to the cotton ball and bandaid.
Two other suggestions, have the hose coming from above your head either over a bed head or you can buy a product called a hose lift, this pulls the mask up instead of down and allows you to move more in bed. Also use mask liners, you can buy them over the net or make your own cheaply, I can give you the instructions if you want. I used the Mirage Quattro for nearly 3 years and would get a sore nose sometimes, I have now moved to the Quattro Air and hardly ever get any, although my nose has got used to it, good luck with it.

DonDiegoDeLaVega,

Have you considered using a full face mask that does NOT have a forehead brace. Some full face masks that do not have forehead supports include:

SleepWeaver Anew Full Face Mask with Headgear by Circadiance
Zzz-Mask Full Face CPAP Mask with Headgear by PMI Probasics
Zzz-Mask SG Full Face CPAP Mask with Headgear by PMI Probasics
Quattro FX Full Face CPAP Mask with Headgear by ResMed
Hans Rudolph 7600 Series V2 Full Face CPAP Mask with Headgear by Hans Rudolph
FullLife Full Face CPAP Mask with Headgear by Philips Respironics

RE: CPAP problems
I had the same problems, the full face mask had to be so tight it killed my high bridged nose. Liners helped but switched to nasal pillows and love them, way way less pressure makes for a happy dude. Like they say try a hybrid or something else cause it only works if you can stand to use it. Good Luck.
