cpap after zygomatic implant surgery
Does anyone have an experience with using a cpap with nasal pillows after recieving a zygomatic implant that goes through the sinus cavity? My Oral surgeon recommended not using it for a time. ( I'm listening to him) I'd like to know how long before I can use it again. It's become a necessity to me.

RE: cpap after zygomatic implant surgery
I don't see how nasal cpap therapy potentially interacts with the implants unless there is also a modification of the sinus. Your question is probably best directed to the oral surgeon, but be sure he is aware of the medical necessity of your sleep apnea therapy.

Contact the surgeon and ask. Make sure he understands you need to use a cpap machine.
Phone his Secretary today and get her to ask him the question. The chances of talking to him direct are small, but she should get him to answer the question for you. I thought that would have been a question you would have asked him at the time!

RE: cpap after zygomatic implant surgery
Thanks for the reply. I did ask at the time of surgery and have followed up with him but have not received an exact time yet. He suggested not using it for a short period of time . This specific surgery is relatively new to the Dr. and has not run into this circumstance yet. I'm sure he will let me know tomorrow , 1 week post op, when I see him. I was looking for others that may have "been there, done that".
