Based on 7 to 8 hours use per night, I get roughly (very rounded) 2500 to 3000 hours per year.
Most providers allow for replacement after five years, so the total hours would be 12,500 to 15,000 hours. Some machines will last longer, but it's probably best to plan for a backup machine at that point.
With 1500 hours, your husband's machine has seen about six months of average use, no matter how long the previous owner had it.

Thanks, that matches what my relative said. She gave it a year off and on. So mechanically it should be sound for awhile. Once we get a week's data I will post in new thread so we can see how good it's going therapy wise.

That machine at 1513 hours is young, less than 1-year of use. Nominal machine life is over 15000 hours and I ran a Respironics M-Series machine to near 20K hours. No worries.
