CSR Breathing Pattern Concern
Folks, are the breathing patterns reflected in the enclosed attachments indicative of CSR? I do have a history of CHF but have never noticed this particular breathing pattern in the 2-3 years of being on cpap.

RE: CSR Breathing Pattern Concern
That is a classic representation of CSR and this episode meets the 15 minute criteria that makes this event notable.
This does not mean this is associated with your CHF. And a single series is not serious or alarming but. . . Review your history to identify how often per night. How many nights this occurred and discuss this w both your sleep doctor and your cardiac doctor. Very frequent occurrence of this may indicate the need for a different machine but what you show her does not.

Thank you, Bonjour. I will continue monitoring ongoing results with appropriate follow-up as suggested.

RE: CSR Breathing Pattern Concern
The pattern appears to be CSR, but your AHI is below the criteria that would normally be considered for a therapy change. Most of the CSR I have seen involves AHI of 20 to 40 per hour. I'm seeing a dip in pressure ahead of inspiration on the mask pressure. I'd like to see you increase the Trigger sensitivity to "more sensitive" and see if we can perhaps extinguish that and help with the inspiratory trigger.

Sleeprider – If I understand you correctly you are referring to the Resmed Aircurve trigger setting which on my machine has settings from “very low” to “very high”. Presently that setting is set at “Med”. Are you suggesting I change this value to the “high” or “very high” setting? (Please excuse my naivety).

One setting above medium "high". Let's see if it makes a difference.

RE: CSR Breathing Pattern Concern
Sleeprider - I made the trigger change from "med" to "high" as you requested last night. There was a noticeable change in breathing for the better. The # of CA's and total AHI came down as well. I'll see how this setting works for awhile. It's probably not of much use but I'm throwing up an image of last night's results. Many thanks for you guidance on this issue!

I like the looks of this a lot better. Hope the good trend continues.
