Can't import from folder on Ubuntu/Xubuntu 18.04 with DreamStation Auto CPAP

Can't import from folder on Ubuntu/Xubuntu 18.04 with DreamStation Auto CPAP
I can import from the SD card on both Ubuntu and Xubuntu 18.04 but if I copy what's on the root of the SD card into a new empty folder on my desktop (or elsewhere) and try to import from that folder it doesn't work. Nothing happens, no error.

It works when importing from a folder (and also directly from the SD card) on Windows 10.

Versions are Xubuntu/Ubuntu 18.04, Philips DreamStation Auto CPAP GBX500S15, Oscar installed via oscar_1.0.1-r1_Ubuntu_amd64.deb (I had to install libqt5serialport5 before it would successfully install)

Attached is a video of what I mean. It does the same in Xubuntu

Thanks for any help and thanks for the fantastic software

Hi Camraithe - Welcome

How did you install OSCAR, as root, or sudo dpkg -i? You might look at the owner and permissions of both OSCAR and your data folder.
