Can't keep my mask on
#1
Question
Can't keep my mask on
Hi, how do I deal with my random removal of my mask during the night? I know for 100% that I manually take off the mask at some point of the night and it is at random times, no pattern. I did it when I was using the P10 and same with the p30i.  How do you manage to keep your mask on?

Post your OSCAR charts....  please include flow limits and pressures in the charts.  What do you have the EPR set to and is it full time?

RE: Can't keep my mask on
I think part of your problem is lack of air.  It happens each night when you start to get more flow limits and the pressure raises and with it leaks.  Some look like mouth leaks.  I would try to raise the min to 9 and keep the EPR set at 3 full time.  Be sure to adjust the mask while lying in your sleep position.   Those two things should help.  Usually to low of a pressure will cause you to take the mask off to get more air.

Ha, makes sense.. I will try tonight with the new setting. One more question, should the P30i be snug/tight on mu nose or lightly tight?

RE: Can't keep my mask on
With most masks, AFAIK, lightly tight would be about right. The most common mistake is to have the mask TOO tight, which distorts the silicone and actually causes a leak. I find that just after I put the mask on, the best thing is to pull it loose a bit and then reset it. That way you can be sure the seal is fully inflated. And of course all that assumes that you have the proper pillow size.
