Central apnea issues with Covid

RE: Central apnea issues with Covid
Increased CA is common with higher pressure support (more EPR). It doesn't sound like it was anything too serious. Hopefully symptoms have eased. You should be moving off Afrin.

Thanks SR! I have been feeling a lot better. The Afrin did work great! Your recommendations worked out perfectly. I'm pretty clear today.

I'm pretty sure I was infected, feeling very groggy and weak, starting around 9th of December.  Noticed an increase of CA as well -- usually I have none.  But what's intriguing was the significant increase of respiration rate.  Mine is usually around 14; it increased over 20 which ist 40% more (it's labelled "Atemfrequenz"):

Oddly enough, the flow limitation ("Flusslimitierung") decreased correspondingly ...  I felt really sick over two weeks, but without fever (had 37.4 C).  As the respiration rate decreased to its usual level I started to feel better.

Did you made similar observations concerning the increase of respiration rate?

Yes, I think it is causing faster, shallower breathing.  It must be leading to more frequent pauses in breathing or awakenings that are being recorded as central apnea.  My brother said his numbers are back down to normal after 3 weeks or so.
