Cflex or Aflex??
Please forgive me for being so inquisitive and asking so many questions, but can someone tell this dummy what the difference is between A flex and C flex, and which one I should be using in my situation on my System One Auto APAP?

Thanks..

Mark

RE: Cflex or Aflex??
GTOdude,
Order the Clinicians Manual for your machine. See link at top of page (CPAP SETUP MANUALS)
This is explained in detail in the manual which you will want anyway to know how to change settings.

I use AFEX set at 2. In Auto Mode, you also are able to use CFLEX. There is a different feel, and it's something you have to experiment with.
There are diagrams in the manual that explains it.

RE: Cflex or Aflex??
The prs1 auto has three flex modes.
Cflex ,Cflex plus, and Aflex
All are flow based.
Cflex will not smooth the transition from inhale to exhale.
Cflex plus and Aflex perform in the same way.
Both are flow based mirroring your breathing pattern and smoothing the transition between inhale and exhale.
Cflex plus is only available when set up as a straight cpap.
In auto mode Aflex or Cflex are available.
Cflex and Aflex feel different.
And Aflex will not end an exhalation more than 2 cm below whatever the current running pressure is.

Aflex was designed for auto mode but some dont like it and prefer cflex or no flex at all.
I run min 11 pressure aflex of 1.
