Changed From CPAP to APAP

Changed From CPAP to APAP
Hi everyone. A little background: I have been using my CPAP machine since February of last year and everything has been great. Within the last couple weeks I have been feeling groggy again (definitely not as bad as before, but noticeable). So I changed my settings from a constant pressure of 12cm to APAP of min 11cm and max of 20cm. Wow what a difference! I feel like I did when I first started CPAP. My AHI only went up to 1.5 (usually hovers around 0.5 on CPAP). I just wondered if you thought that this was OK that I did what I did? Or if maybe I should tweak them more? I use SleepyHead and checked the stats just now; if I need to post anything let me know what to post. I first posted when I originally got my machine and someone questioned why my doctor would put me on a constant pressure and I thought of that when I figured to switch over to APAP, any insight or comments is appreciated, thanks in advance!

How you feel on therapy, trumps the data. Even if AHI rises, feeling better is more important. The type of events you are getting on the APAP vs CPAP may be non-obstructive events (CA), so those don't tend to be terribly degrading to sleep quality. I used to trade RERA for CA when I first switched to bilevel. Whatever works for you is fine.

What are your observations looking at Sleepyhead? What changed? If you want to post some data for interpretation this tutorial discusses how to organize the charts. http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php...ganization

RE: Changed From CPAP to APAP
Thank you for your help. I hope I did this right, the pictures of my charts are below. One from last night on APAP and the night before on CPAP.
Thank you again!

Either of those results is very good treatment. If you are feeling better on the APAP, then that's what I'd go with. It could be the slightly better results in RERA or overall lower pressure. No way to know. Your leak rate is considerably better on APAP for some reason. The one pressure spike was due to the flurry of snores that quickly went away. Flow limitations look good on both charts, slightly better on APAP.
