Cheyne Stokes Respiration ??????

Cheyne Stokes Respiration ??????
I have had OA clusters show up many times on SleepyHead but for the first time SleepyHead  has labeled a cluster as Cheyne stokes Respiration. Has anyone else have this happen to them?  Or can anyone see anything on my SleepyHead charts below that is more characteristic  of Cheyne Stokes Respiration. The first two charts show the entire night and the second two are zoomed in on what is being labeled as Cheyne Stokes Respiration.  I do have a wrist pulse oximeter  so if I continue to see CSR  on sleepyhead I will start recording because from what I understand true Cheyne Stokes Respiration has an O2 drop and rise associated with it. Any other comments/suggestions would be appreciated.

Don't worry about it. Those are obstructive events and not CSR. The machines often give false reports on CSR.

This question comes up all the time. Unfortunately the machine flags any periodic breathing pattern as CSR. You can change the title of it in Sleepyhead in File/Preferences/Events, and change Cheyne-Stokes to Periodic Breathing (PB). CSR is rarely a problem for individuals without advanced heart failure, and true CSR has a characteristic pattern of gradually increasing and decreasing respiratory flow with a central apnea event at the low-flow. Your pattern is apnea, recovery breathing, increasing flow limitation, apnea, recovery breathing, etc.

Generally good CPAP treatment punctuated by clusters of obstructive apnea typically point to a positional apnea problem caused by tucking the chin to the chest. This can be caused by pillows, sleeping position or just a tendency to tuck the chin at a stage of sleep. It is easily fixed with a soft cervical collar. Those are distinctly NOT CSR (thanks for the zoom view), they are, as WW noted above, clearly obstructive events.  Actually a series of obstructive events followed by recovery breathing after each event.  IMHO these are likely caused by a positional event.  I wouldn't worry or take any corrective action unless this occurs on a regular basis.

Your screenshots looks exactly like what I posted awhile back. I had the same breathing pattern, with nothing but long rows of obstructions. I fixed it with help from people here. They said to try a soft cervical collar. I bought a neck brace from my local pharmacy and been wearing it for awhile now. It has so far fixed this issue. It is cumbersome to wear with my chin strap and mask, but at least I don't have those crazy OA's anymore. Also I raised my maximum pressure, because my machine was pegging out, just like yours is hitting the maximum. The machine is at the maximum and unable to go higher. May want to talk to your doctor about raising the maximum a little to see if that helps. Otherwise try a soft neck brace. I won't go a night now without my neck brace, because those rows of OA's were causing my heart to go into AFIB and abnormal rhythms.
