* Also I discovered this morning that sometime during the night I had dragged an extra blanket across the bed on top of my heated tube, and I have no memory of doing this nor would I consciously put a blanket on top of the tube, so I don't know how much is going on that I don't even recall.

Actually, I tend to get bad numbers if I lay awake with the CPAP on. Laying awake does not necessarily give you good numbers, since one breathes a lot more regularly while one is asleep than when awake unless one has sleep apnea.
