Clogged ear

RE: Clogged ear
Ahhh....great success story. I love my machine as well...but never want to experience the vertigo again...very debilitating. I know I couldn't be without my cpap for many days. Seeing your doctor seems like a good "next step " for you...hopefully you will get some answers.

Thanks Jackie...
Yea the machine for me is the bomb. In addition, as I mentioned in another tread going on now related to dreaming, I now am dreaming like I did when I was younger. Though some may be considered nightmares, LOL.

All this from a guy who on this forum made a super controversial claim in April 2015 that virgin coconut oil cures sleep apnea. That's a story for the medical journals Thinking-about

I remember the coconut oil claim.  You've come a long way baby!   Too-funny

RE: Clogged ear
Yes I've come a long way in 22 months.
But with that said, and as difficult as it is to believe, the coconut oil did give me relief for about three weeks. During those weeks is when I came on this forum to find out if others had experienced the same thing. I did find a gentleman here on this forum that experienced some positive effects with VCO, but like me it wasn't anything that could be counted on and gives lasting concrete results. How and why VCO worked in reducing daytime sleepiness for that short period of time I guess will be a mystery... it's hard to envision that VCO was opening up my airway and preventing OSA.

Getting back to the ear thing... they are still clogged this morning. Will play it by EAR! Laugh-a-lot

Perhaps some virgin coconut oil in your ears? Even if it doesn't work, they'll smell good.

Yes the CPAP is probably the factor with this problem. Did you have any pain, vertigo or noticeable hearing loss?... other than having an ear that constantly feels stopped up, and thumping inside the affected ear when I walk, chew or tap my head/jaw, I don't have any of these other symptoms except maybe some hearing loss.

Thank you

My wife's doctor initially considered whether she might have had Meniere's disease as she kept getting vertigo month after month and prescribed some meds. Then one day we said enough was enough and I drove her straight to an ENT specialist during one of her episodes. He did what is known as the Epley maneuver to reposition the "stones" / crystals in her ear canals and my goodness, she was immediately much better and was up about within 24hrs. The frequency of episodes have dropped significantly thereafter.

I was told that if the doctor cannot diagnose the cause of the problem, they will label it as Meniere's disease based on the symptoms.

For the cases shared in the other thread - "Vertigo/CPAP Pressure Update- CPAP causing inner ear problems", they seem to be pressure / blockage related.  Just my 2-cents.
lots-o-coffee
The doctor says coffee does not affect my tinnitus and it's got lots of antioxidants....however, the after dinner drinks are a different matter altogether.
