Completed First Night

RE: Completed First Night
The reason for me is I like a little extra room for nights when you might need the extra pressure to deal with events. Your hitting the top now so it just gives you a little more room if needed. As long as you don't have a problem with flow limitations driving your pressure too high it doesn't hurt anything to have extra room at the top. You don't seem to have the flow limitation problem.

Your results are good, and if you are feeling pretty good the current settings are fine The residual events are obstructive, and a 0.5 cm pressure adjustment might clear up the hypopnea.  The main concern is that you are sleeping well, and you have only the one therapy break in the morning.  It just appears a small increase in minimum pressure may put you over the top in eliminating those events.

RE: Completed First Night
Last night was the 3rd night in a row where I woke up to my machine off, but wearing the mask just fine.  This started on my first night turning on the Auto feature.  Is there any setting on my machine that may be enabled that could be causing this shut off?  I may film myself at night just to make sure it's not me shutting it off.

RE: Completed First Night
The machine was turned off at about 4:15 for 5-minutes. There is no leak ahead of the shut-down, so I would conclude you may be touching the power button. I keep my machine in a drawer next to the bed with the hose routed through the back of the cabinet. It's very secure, quiet and impossible to shut-down without knowing about it.

On results, we are starting to see a few more centrals, so I think we will avoid further increases in pressure. If you found 8.5 minimum more comfortable, you may move back to that, or keep 9.0 for another night. It's not much of an increase, not serious, but it is a signal to pay attention to.

I do not have the DreamStation, but there is a difference between "Auto Mode" that enables the variable pressure Auto CPAP features and Auto ON / Auto OFF which lets your breathing (or lack of it) turn the machine on and off.

I hope that helps.  Most of us do not use Auto ON or Auto OFF.

I don't think it's the auto off that's doing it. If your mask came off there would be a spike in the leak rate and there isn't one. You had an event just prior to the power going off. I think you were aroused by the event and turned off the machine for a few minutes. You just don't remember it.

My middle-of-the-night self sure is a jerk  Grin  Hopefully as I get use to it, that will happen less, or else I'll have to come up with other measures also.

You have 9 at the moment, and 2 out of 3 apnea are obstructive. I'm tempted to give the dreamstation another cm of min pressure to 10. to get it closer to 95%. It really is missing a lot of stuff as it is.
the max 12 is fine and the machine isn't choked going by you chart.it may keep a lid on going higher and causing more centrals. Turning the flex off may help ca too.

For auto-cpap, from machine data or software. You can set the min pressure 1 or 2cm below 95%. Or clinicians commonly use the maximum or 95% pressure for fixed pressure CPAP, this can also be used for min pressure.

I was wondering what the Flex meant on the machine but haven't had time to research it.  What does flex do?

Reduces the pressure on exhale makes it easier to breath out
