Confused and Worried
#11
RE: Confused and Worried
It is very peculiar that the machine is giving you a reading that makes no sense. Apnea’s do not occur while awake. Whether it is a manifestation of something else is something only your dr. can determine. Nevertheless, it does take a new CPAP user time to adjust especially to the mask. Many times people will subconsciously remove their mask or pull it away from their face. There could be a sense of claustrophobia which illicit this response. Finally, relaxation has a lot to do with starting CPAP therapy. It is important to remind yourself that this is a good thing which will help you combat sleep apnea. But, I would recommend that you try another machine to see if you are receiving the same response.
