R.E.M. Causing Heavy Eyes??

R.E.M. Causing Heavy Eyes??
Anyone experience/heard of the theory that R.E.M. sleep can cause heavy eyes?

To explain/clarify: Using my own experience, went 12-15 years with untreated sleep apnea (and thus never really experiencing dreams/REM sleep). Now using CPAP machine and sleeping/dreaming like crazy but experiencing what I call heavy eyes when waking up and throughout the day. Feel fine otherwise. not fatigued at all. Just feel like I want/need to close my eyes all day long.

Read something (alas online) that eye movement during REM sleep could be 'fatiguing' my eyes and since eye movement is not something i have experienced in years, maybe my eyes just are not use to it?

thoughts???

RE: R.E.M. Causing Heavy Eyes??
Your eyes make thousands of small rapid movements, especially when tracking something moving laterally across your field of vision, each day, so I am doubtful about the theory.  In any event, heavy lids and heavy 'eyes' don't sound like they're the same things.  I can see having a sleepy feeling with heavy eyelids, and wanting to doze off in some situations.  It's now part of my life, whereas it wasn't in the least prior to my own diagnosis.  Now, after supper, I just get used to wanting to doze as the missus and I set about watching our pre-recorded material for the evening.  And she's used to it as well.  Cool
