Cool room, humidifier, wet face?

Cool room, humidifier, wet face?
So I use a full-face mask. My bedroom is kept at roughly 60 degrees F (16 C). I use a humidifier and a climate-controlled tube.

But no matter how I try, I always wake up way too early with a lot of condensation in my mask, wetting my face, making the mask very slippery on my skin, which lets air seep through and produces flapping and whistling sounds, on top of the diminished pressure.

Are there any tips on how to set up my machine's humidity or temperature levels in a cool room to avoid this? I have played around with the settings and can't seem to find any that solve my problem.

My devide is the Resmed S9 BTW.

I'm not sure if you've got the same humidity controls as my 10 Series, but there could be 3 settings you can adjust. 1 is for the heated hose. 2 is the humidifier. A possible number 3 is an auto/manual humidifier selection. If you have this 3rd item, try changing it to whatever it's not on now, assuming you've not changed it prior.

Without minimizing comfort, I'd consider adding a higher heated hose setting with a lower humidity setting. Again, referring above, if you have that auto/manual selector, choosing auto allows machine sensors to adapt the humidity to your ambient room level. Maybe it helps your situation.

Thank you for your quick response.

I don't think there's an automatic setting to my climate controls but I will try lower humidity and higher temperature, and report.

Thanks =D

If you have the heated hose (big orange connector at the machine end) then you'll have automatic climate control available (once you get the humidifier fixed).

By the way, which particular S9 do you have (eg Escape, Elite, Autoset, VPAP)?

Good morning,
I have an S9E; I use a heated hose and a hose reel device to suspend the hose.
I don't keep my room as cool as you do. I'm guessing it's about 70 degrees F in my room.

If I remember right, I can adjust temperature in my cpap/humidifier and hose to 86 degrees F. I don't know how to set for a lower humidity rate separately, so I'm interested in what you achieve.

I've had rain-out in the past. This is caused by water condensing within the hose/mask. These settings have prevented that.

Others use a wrap around their hose, or hose blanket, to help prevent rainout. I don't do that. My heated hose works well with the temperature in my room.
