RE: Corrupt SD card
Today I had to return to the DME that I visited yesterday. In spite of following the instructions on this forum, I was not able to change the wrong date and time on my S9 Autoset machine. I called before I went there and the young woman on the phone assured me that 'most certainly' they could access the clinician's menu and change the date and time.
So I brought the machine to their location and they worked on it for 30 minutes or more and did manage to change the date. They told me that the time doesn't matter although it still shows military time, that it is the amount of hours that I sleep that is important.
Then the person I was speaking with said "out of curiosity - how did you learn to get into the clinician's menu"? I told her 'online'. Then I get the same durn lecture that many of you have received: the patient has no business in the clinicians menu - that everything I need to see is on the patient menu - I should not be in the clinician's menu because I might accidentally change some very important settings and so on and so forth.
Can anyone tell me why so many of the DME's preach from the same hymnal and that they assume all patients are complete idiots? For two cents, I would find a different DME - except I don't think there are any honest ones anywhere.
RE: Corrupt SD card
Because they want to maintain they're mistaken idea that they are the professional, and you are the mere patient. The reality is that you are their client. It would be nice if more DME's would treat people as clients who are buying a service from them rather than someone taking up their valuable time.
As far as getting into the "clinician's menu?" If the "clinician" is leaving his darn menu in my bedroom I'll be getting into it anytime I wish, thank you very much!

Well let's see now if I am not mistaken the time is on the patient screen, and you need to see it.... SOooooooo why can't the PROFESSIONALS fix it since YOU have no business touching it as you are just a mere mortal?? You should have used that chance to lace the stupid lecture into the "so called smarties" Or better yet refused to have left till the Clinical G-d's fixed the damn time.
It just proves what I always say, there is no cure for stupid, and it is forever!
If everyone thinks alike, then someone isn't thinking.
Everyone knows something, together we could know everything.
RE: Corrupt SD card
Continuing to seek advice from someone who is an ignorant, arrogant, self appointed expert makes you a co-conspirator in futility. Find another DME that treats you at least like an equal and hopefully realizes that you are the best judge of how the therapy is working. I'm 78 years old and have suffered many of those "experts" all throughout my career. I can spot them as soon as they open their mouths and instead of offering a solution they want to criticize my analysis and methods.
Those of us who actually are experts find it hard to put up with ignorant pretenders that have risen to their level of incompetence.
You should mention to your doctor the quality of service the DME is giving you since it reflects badly on him for throwing you to the wolves or at best casting you adrift for a year.

RE: Corrupt SD card
Alert...
The term Mousetown was coined during the early 50's when I was in high school. It was not meant to be a term of endearment since this town was and still is economically depressed and lacking in good jobs. It's actually named Mt. Vernon but it doesn't have a mountain either. Go figure.
My family name is Dude and I do all of my surfing on the internet so surferdude seemed like a good alias for me. I spent 36 years in California and never dipped a toe in the ocean. Go figure.
However, I'm grateful that the Mousetown situation forced me to go to California and seek better conditions. It has enabled me to return and retire for the past 17 years and be back to my roots. Alas, it's still Mousetown... A far cry from Fullerton where my 36 prosperous years were spent.

Cool! I was just curious every time I looked at your sidebar. I finally got to the point where I couldn't contain my curiosity and had to ask.

Did they end up erasing all your old compliance data?
I believe S9 machines only do 24 hour time.
The Medical Mafia is a lot like the real Mafia. One of their biggest priorities is protecting their turf. They've got to keep up the profit margins.
Get the free OSCAR CPAP software here.
Useful links.
Click here for information on the main alternative to CPAP.
If it's midnight and a DME tells you it's dark outside, go and check it yourself.
RE: Corrupt SD card
No, they didn't erase the old compliance data. What seemed to annoy me the most is that the rep I was dealing with admitted that "I've only been working here for 4 months.".........duh.......and you are telling ME how to live my life with this machine?
You are right about the Medical Mafia........love your sense of humor!!!
