David Clark - Therapy Thread

RE: David Clark - Therapy Thread
Well...I'm working on what...3 weeks with my machine. My AHI's have ranged from a low of 2.20 to a high of 8.26 and everything in between. While every night isn't a perfect night it's better than the 39.6 AHI from my sleep study and I'm hopeful that it can only get better from here.

Well...the last few nights I've been trying the "tongue on the back of the teeth" thing to see if I can move away from my FFM to the nasal mask I have. I actually just ordered a nasal pillow mask but haven't gotten it yet. That little tongue trick really does seem to work. I'm still getting some leaking but not anything like it was before I tried the trick. This is last night and I think a couple of the longer large leaks are from when I got up to use the restroom and unhooked the hose from the mask.

I've not really tried to master the tongue suck seal but I'm sure pushing your tongue to your teeth isn't the correct way. I'm pretty sure that may eventually push your teeth out of proper alignment.

I thought it was more arching your tongue to the roof of your mouth and sucking to pull the tongue, which should naturally make the tongue seal the back of mouth.

I'm not "pushing my tongue" to my teeth. Only lifting it so that I can feel it touching to back of the top teeth...not pushing against them. That may not be the correct way to do it but I did see it mentioned that was a way to do it.

Best night I've had so far. I really can't believe the leaks are so little because I'm using my nasal mask and still trying the tongue thing to keep the air where it belongs. Last night may have been a fluke but hopefully it gets even better.

The power left shows the 2 sessions. If you have Smart Start turned on, then that is the reason. Otherwise, it could be you had a power failure during the night. Are any clocks reset in the house?

Smart Start is on. If the power went off it must have been a flicker. Not long enough to upset any clocks.

I'll place my bet on Smart Start as the culprit. That seems to be the problem child on the 10 series.

I just went back and looked at past days on OSCAR. Most of them are split into more than one time.
