The cool-down cycle starts when you turn the machine off. At the end of your 30-minute cool-down how do you turn the machine off? It's already off!

The cool down is starts and runs for 30 minutes as soon as I press stop and the on/off switch is lit, I press and hold this switch until the light is out and the machine is turned off.

I only unplug my ResMed machine when I need to pull the SD card and import data into SH.  Going to try a FlashAir card soon though.  Then I'll probably just leave it on all the time.  Lots of great suggestions for your situation though.

Yes, I did. But unplugging from the outlet was hassle, so I used a heavy duty extension outlet with a disconnect switch that I can manually flick on and off.

Whenever I have to replace the water and take out the chamber, it's also slightly warm. Does the CPAP unit need to stay constantly plugged in after I wake up in the morning?

The only thing that gets warm is the heated pad not the blower. Mines always on standby.
