Hunididfier not working?

Hunididfier not working?
Since my pressures were increased, I have been using a humidifier.

However, it doesn't seem to be working properly and I'm not sure why. I invariably wake up with an extremely parched mouth, and the water level in the tank barely drops, if at all.

I have examined the water tank compartment of my machine and it doesn't seem to be faulty, as far as I can tell, although there is a little L-shaped bit of plastic that links the whole in the side of the actual blower with a hole in the back to tank that did fall out. I have put it back position as far as I know but am wondering if this could be the issue.

The clinic tells me that it could be something to do with the ambient temperature in the room and have advised me to insulate the hose.  I am sceptical but will go along with the advice just in case they are right. Any other suggestions?

RE: Hunididfier not working?
What your clinic is telling you is logical. If the ambient humidity is sufficient in your room, then the humidifier senses this and won't use much.

If you feel a need for more humidity, try different settings on your humidifier and see if that makes a difference.

Also, many of us here insulate our hoses. All you need is a fleece style hose cover, which besides being more comfortable also prevents rainout.

One more thing to consider... if you are a mouth breather, you will wake up with very dry "cotton" mouth.

OK, thankyou. I certainly do get "cotton mouth" and have been given a full face mask to try.
