RE: newbie to oscar with AHI much above sleep study
At just after 5am there is a cluster of OA events indicating that positional apnea is occurring. http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php...onal_Apnea , for now just keep an eye out for it.

With either a ResMed or a BiLevel machine I would suggest increasing EPR on ResMed or PS on a BiLevel. On your machine all we can do is increase pressure, so once again, increase pressure by 1 to 11.

changes in eqpt and results
Hi There

I am writing because i have changed from a respironics mask to a RESMED mask which has reduced my noticeable leakages when I change positions. I am still having a high AHI and would like to have someone review my chart and see if there is obvious problems that might be able to be dealt with. Any help would be appreciated.

RE: barbc (Therapy Thread)
Barb, Your therapy looked better last year before you stopped posting. Your high AHI is due to "Positional Apnea." Look at your chart and notice where all the Obstructives clump together.

Are you still using a soft cervical collar? Your chart shows the same issue of positional apnea. You can also try to use a thinner pillow. The position you sleep in isn't as important as being aware of "chin tucking." Try whatever it takes to control tucking your chin.

Your leak rate looks fine, so use whichever mask feels best.

Some other things: First, turn off the ramp feature, and second... change your flex setting to 1.
