Differences in treatment with mask types?

Differences in treatment with mask types?
Hi all,

I use a nasal pillow mask (N30) with a soft cervical collar which has been fine up until recently. I had small amount of leaks (both mouth and mask) prior but nothing big. I've recently lost about 15 pounds to go from overweight to the high end of the healthy weight range. I hope to lose about 10 more pounds. Since I've lost weight, I've had more mouth leaks even with the soft cervical collar. A couple of times, I've woken up to my mouth being closed but air escaping between my lips.

I've been debating between mouth taping and switching to a full face mask (Resmed AirFit F30). I love the minimalist aspect of nasal pillows. I've tried mouth taping a couple of times but have not been able to get past the "kidnapped" feel.

I know switch to a full face mask will probably cause more mask leaks. Is there any therapeudic difference between a full face mask vs a nasal pillow?

RE: Differences in treatment with mask types?
I found just the opposite, I had nasal pillows with large leaked through out the night. Changed to ResMed F30 and almost NO leaks at all.
