Do oxygen concentrators provide the same benefits as hyperbaric oxygen chambers?

Do oxygen concentrators provide the same benefits as hyperbaric oxygen chambers?
Wow the Second Wind CPAP store I just bought my travel CPAP from also has this oxygen concentrator product that pumps oxygen into you, to make sure you aren't oxygen deprived. Is this the same as hyperbaric oxygen chamber therapy, that thing where injured athletes go into an oxygen chamber to heal their wounds and recover faster? Is it equivalent? If so, this could be very beneficial. I've been looking for something like this. But it's a thousand bucks though. Do you think it's worth it? Can it provide the same benefits that hyperbaric oxygen therapy can?

I've heard fantastic things about oxygen, such as that in the Old Testament Bible, people lived up to 900 years because the Earth had a lot more oxygen back then, and that's how dinosaurs were able to get so big, as well as plants and animals. Not sure if that's true, but it sounds fantastic if it is. Since there's so much we don't know about where we come from and our past, who knows, anything is possible I guess, and sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. Smile

(Is it ok if I post links now?) (Commercial/DME links removed.)  Search Supplier #2

Here's another one that's a little cheaper:

RE: Do oxygen concentrators provide the same benefits as hyperbaric oxygen chambers?
From what I have seen, there were higher oxygen levels during Permian period (giant plants) and fell to lower levels in the Jurassic Period (dinosaurs), and those levels dropped in the various ice ages, eventually recovering to modern day levels. https://theconversation.com/the-rise-and...ygen-18954 It's safe to say, mankind had not yet evolved and we are well adapted to the current atmospheric composition of 21% oxygen.

An oxygen concentrator can increase the fraction of inspired oxygen (FiO2) to significantly higher levels when needed.  Your blood can only carry oxygen up to 100% of the saturation level (SpO2) at atmospheric level.  There is no medical or health reason to use supplemental oxygen unless you have a respiratory or pulmonary problem that compromises your blood oxygen levels. Oxygen concentrators increase FiO2 at atmospheric pressure, and a hyperbaric chamber is capable of delivering the selected gas mix at higher than atmospheric pressure.  Higher pressure at high oxygen concentrations can increase the ability of your blood to transport more oxygen than at atmospheric pressure.  While there may be some therapeutic benefits to hyperbaric treatment, it is impractical for most normal individuals.

HBOT is not at all the same as breathing oxygen.

Few consider that oxygen is a drug and like any drug can beome toxic at certain levels, and if not required for a specific theraputic reason may result in an irreversable dependency, respiratory deconditioning, and lung damage. Consult your physician, preferably a cardiologist or pulmonologist before starting oxygen supplementation.

O2 therapy significantly improves oxygen saturation in patients with OSA. However, it may also increase the duration of apnea-hypopnea events. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3578679/

Keep flammables away from oxygen sources and maintain fire awareness.

There is no comparison between supplementary oxygen as delivered by a concentrator and oxygen delivered at above atmospheric pressures in a full-body hyperbaric chamber to perfuse tissues.
