Does The S9 Beep?

Does The S9 Beep?
Something in my bedroom is waking me up with a single beep. There are many electronic devices in the room because in addition to a bedroom it is also a home office. I was wondering whether the H5i humidifier beeps when the water is depleted. I can't find the beep...Unsure

Hi JimZZZ,
I have never heard my S9AutoSet beep.
I hope you find out what's beeping, they seem to come from every direction, especially at night when you're half asleep..

I also wonder if the S9 beeps. Until four days ago I was a long-term PRS1 user, and it has a beep that you can turn off by setting "silent mode".

It would beep when it came on and beep when I turned it off. Juno (the resident terrible terrier) misses the morning beep that signaled the rising of her servant.

A power blip might cause that. Just enough that the machine cycles off and on quickly. Since you are most likely asleep, you don't notice anything other than the "beep."

Or it could be the cat. Sometimes cats learn to do crappy things to you just to be an aggravation. Or it could even be Mrs. JimZZZ for the same reasons.

RE: Does The S9 Beep?
I'm not aware of any beeping features on the s9 autoset.

the vpap auto has a 'leak alert' you can turn on that will beep when the leak is over 40lpm for over 20 seconds.

I suspect other electronics in the room. I too share my bedroom with my home office. Being nearly deaf in the left ear, I'll look all over for an offending noise.

I agree there doesn't appear to be a beeper function in the AutoSet. The VPAP auto provider manual seems to indicate it has a beeper, although it's a combined VPAP auto, ST, and S manual. Strangely enough, it seems to indicate it doesn't have a beep function in Vauto mode, even though it says it will beep in CPAP or S mode.

Even on the models with a beep, it seems to be for leaks, not for dry humidifier. I don't think the S9's detect empty water tanks, although they do have a temperature control to keep them from overheating.

Did you see a beeper when you tore yours down? I didn't see it in the pictures. Does your VPAP Auto beep? Is it loud enough? My PRS1 auto beeps, but it's not loud enough to reliably wake people up.

They seem to have some S9 models with a "-A" suffix that is a separate loud beeper section to wake you up. For instance, the AutoSet CS-A and VPAP ST-A.

God, I hate gadgets that make random infrequent beeps where you can't figure out where it's coming from.

Jim, maybe someone hit you with an Annoy-a-tron. (Google it, I don't think I can post a link.)

the manual and my vpap auto don't agree on that point, I do have the leak alert available in vauto mode on mine, I don't use it, because I like smartstart, and leak alert disables smartstart... but I just checked, it's available on mine in vauto.

S9 AutoSet does not have beeping alert alarms but have reminders messages for accessories replacements (mask, filter, water tank, etc ..)
You can turn them off in the clinical menu

Some people have reported the H5i makes some clicking sound every few seconds, something to do with the thermostat

I bet a dollar or two, a clock or some other gadget on the bedside table or close by is the source of the beep Coffee

do those beep? in the autoset? I remember setting 'em in my elite, just for fun, and then forgetting about 'em, never heard a beep from it though.

it annoyed me that I couldn't *FIND* a beeper on the pics of the elite and vpap adapt boards I have, and yet I knew that my vpap auto beeped, so I ended up taking it apart, and, confirmed again, it looks exactly the same, then I found the beeper, after googling a part number or two.

it's this thing: [Image: 150270907-40.jpg]

they all have it. so, it's *possible* the autoset is chirpin at you. Smile
