Dramatic Increase in Pressure?
#11
RE: Dramatic Increase in Pressure?
I’m not sure why you are having so much trouble exhaling. One thing to consider is your minimum pressure of 6 coupled with using a Flex setting would put your exhale pressure at 4. What you may be experiencing is what we call being “air starved.”

Flex settings don’t give as much pressure relief compared to using EPR on a ResMed machine.
What setting are you using? I’ve always found a setting of AFlex 1 or 2 to be the most comfortable.
You can also try CFlex and see if that works better for you.

If all else fails, turn Flex to off.

Gotcha. I was using Flex 3. I can feel it kick in, but only after the initial tough breath out.

Thank you everyone for your help!

If you're coming from fixed pressure of 9.0, I think on your new auto, you might do well to start with a range of 8-16. This is good for most people, and if you're still having obstructive issues, I think it will be easier to narrow down what you need. I absolutely hate Flex at 3 and it always increased my AHI.
