Dream Mapper [What is a clear airway apnea?]
I have a question on the Dream Mapper app. What is a clear airway apnea? I understand obstructive and hypopneas.

RE: Dream Mapper
Wiki definition:

Central Sleep Apnea- A period of at least 10 seconds without airflow, during which no respiratory effort is evident. Central sleep apnea (CSA)

The term Clear Airway is often interchanged with Central Sleep Apnea.

Lee, if your seeing a lot of these, you should post an OSCAR screenshot here so we can advise.  A few CA’s spread out during the night is not much to worry about.

What is your total AHI and how much of the AHI are CA’s?

RE: Dream Mapper
Most of my AHI numbers are under one, but I've had a couple over 2, and I notice that when my ahi is larger I seem to have more CA's. On the 7th of August I had a 2.5 ahi with 12 CA's, last night I had a 2.1 with 13. These seem to be the exception rather than the rule.

RE: Dream Mapper
You could post a chart for peace of mind, but your total numbers are low, so the CA’s probably are not significant. I have a few now and then too.

RE: Dream Mapper
I would concur. Your numbers shouldn't be anything to worry about, especially on a DreamStation. How long are the CAs? Post a chart to confirm you are in fact being treated effectively, as it seems to be the case, if nothing else than for peace of mind.

RE: Dream Mapper
I\m not as much concerned about it as wondering if they are the same thing which they appear to be.
