DreamWear Nasal CPAP Mask

DreamWear Nasal CPAP Mask
Hi again, I have had my cpap machine for over 6 months now. I have the the ResMed nasal pillows which has been working quite well. But I have my eye on the DreamWear Nasal Mask because I like the way the hose is on the head. (The hose hanging down really bugs me.) I also like the looks of it. What I'm wondering is if I can use the DreamWear Mask with my ResMed machine. I'm sure Medicare won't buy me a new machine. Not sure how the whole things work.

So to be succinct, here is the question: Can I use the DreamWear Nasal Mask with my ResMed machine?

From what I understand, yes, the masks are all interchangeable.

Yes, the hose/mask connector is one of the few things that is a standard size between manufacturers.  You should be able to use any mask with any machine that is in today's market.

That's good news that the mask will work with my present machine. I think I'm going to go ahead and try that DreamWear Mask. I can't believe I'm excited about getting a new mask. I hope it works for me - I really like the idea of the hose being out of the way - and I think it just looks better. But it's hard to look good in a mask, no matter what the style. I just like the idea of it being more minimal without the hose hanging down and always being in the way when I want to reposition.

I totally get it. The mask was what made me not want to get a cpap.

But I love my DreamWear; and it has helped me be more enthusiastic about a cpap.

If the hose hanging down bothers you then the Dreamwear is what you want.

I have used the dreamwear with both an A10 Autoset and now my Aircurve 10 vAuto. It worked well for me with both, although I primarily use p10s now.

Everyone is different, but I had a hard time controlling leaks on the dreamwear when I would roll around. Dreamwear was the most comfortable mask I've used though. Hands down.

I also get leaks when I roll around. The only downside is that if you are very sensitive to sounds, it does have a Darth Vadar quality to it as the air rushes by near your ears. I use an Ocean Waves app at night and don't even notice it. I highly recommend trying it out! I use the 'pillow' settings for the Dreamwear on my Resmed.

That's very true!  Dreamwear can be quite loud, particularly on your side, becuase the frame compensates for lost flow on the crushed side by increasing flow on the open side.  Im a strange person though, and I love white/grey noise so I actually preferred the sound of the dreamwear to the silent p10s.

Hi sleepytimegal,
Masks can be a bit of a challenge, I hope you like the Dreamwear.

Good luck.
