Dreamstation-Logic Question

Dreamstation-Logic Question
On 4th day using Dreamstation Auto - Pressure 9-16.  On previous ResMed Autosense 10/S9 Autoset, my 90% pressure would be 12.3-12.8 pretty consistently, but it always varied a bit.

The Dreamstation is saying the 90% Pressure is Exactly 13.5 every single day. This does not seem logical to me.  Not that it is in the 13's, but that it is the Exact Same Number every day.  I have it set to "Auto" so I wanted to see if maybe something was wrong with a setting I don't know about, or if you think the machine is not operating properly and is not auto-adjusting, but just acting like a fixed CPAP.

My AHIs are around 5-6, and I will work later on improving those - just need to make sure the machine is working properly. Any help from those who have a Dreamstation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

RE: Dreamstation-Logic Question
Are you getting that number off the machine or from SleepyHead?

RE: Dreamstation-Logic Question
Most likely it is the difference in the algorithm used in the Phillips machine. The ResMed is more aggressive in response to things like flow limitation, hypopneas and snore. I think there is nothing wrong with your machine. It is just the way it works.

RE: Dreamstation-Logic Question
also the stated pressure has at least a 10% range. so the actual pressure may be the same. With the DS you will need to raise your minimum, I would start at 12cm and leave the max on 16cm and see the results. As has been said it's slower to respond

For auto-cpap from machine data, or software. Set the min pressure at 'med' median pressure or 90% OR 2cm below 95% pressure. max pressure at 20cm for now. Forum will help you fine tune settings

RE: Dreamstation-Logic Question
I never paid much attention but I went into Sleepyhead and Dream Mapper to check.  From July 1 to July 5, I had both showing my 90% pressure at 9.5 cm.  (I run 8.5 min to 12 max.)  My average AHI for those 5 days was low at 0.4.  On July 6, my 90% was 11 (and my AHI jumped up to 2.2 for that night.)

So to answer your question, my Dreamstation shows that my 90% pressure doesn't change much (if any) from day to day when my AHI stays below 1.  Consistency seems to be the key.

RE: Dreamstation-Logic Question
Could be a sleep positional issue with different pressures need to deal with different sleep positions. My AHI went up with my recent bout with a nasty cough/cold as well.

Dave.
