Drinking demineralized water is bad for health
In the thread on distilled vs tap water for humidification there was a question concerning whether or not "demineralized" water is bad for your health. Apparently de-mineralized and de-ionized terms are used interchangeably because de-mineralized water is made by de-ionization. Well, apparently it is less than healthy. Not from what it has in it but from what it does not contain and that would be the healthy minerals required by the body.

RE: Drinking demineralized water is bad for health
Not sure of any health risks drinking demineralized/distilled water (maybe to your wallet) if you,re getting the minerals from the food.
Astronauts don,t have access to tap water As for boxes, we need some more, moving house soon
RE: Drinking demineralized water is bad for health
Does not apply to water used to humidify air we breathe. Minerals exist in water from natural sources in ionic form -- that is they are generally disassociated from their negative atom which is usually a Halogen such as Chlorine. Whether one refers to water with these minerals removed as de-ionized or distilled or demineralized... it's best for our equipment if used.
The use of tap v distill H2O is a matter of preference. If you can get a new tank on a fairly regular basis; then there really is no need to buy distilled H2O. The controversy over drinking demineralized water is unproven by science. Zonk: And how do we Yanks get boxes to you in the Land Down Under? And, is it true that water swirls down the drain in an anti-clockwise direct down there? Admin Note:

She was poised to try it but too much giggling from the cockpit alerted her to the scam.
