RE: Ontario question...Understand ADP Rules?
Just a note regarding ADP...
The recent Ontario 2016 budget had a note that to control program costs, ADP would be reviewing criteria for who qualifies for equipment funding, and the first type of equipment whose funding they are going to review are CPAPs.
Although no changes have been made yet (AFAIK), I *just* purchased a CPAP and the DME vendor is handling my ADP application. Hopefully the government takes its sweet time completing its review and implementing any funding cuts.
Those of us in Ontario should contact our MPPs and the Ontario Minister of Health to make our views on this subject known!
RE: Ontario question...Understand ADP Rules?
For what its worth in ontario i saw my supplier and asked for autoset. No dice without apap on perscription. When i asked if I could get autoset for her with it set to cpap since it was on the list of cpap approved devices the firm sorted me out. They even had a silver faceplate rather than the leafy one which comes with the machine. I was pretty happy i was able to get the apap machine so i Could switch to apap if necessary or to experiment.
Note my ent has been a source of zero info re machines etc. Treatment etc. Maybe there are specialists in toronto who know about his stuff but mine is not one of them. The tech at the sleep study said i should use a chin strap due to open mouth durin sleep. Not a word from by the doctor on this issue. I woukd like to avoid the strap if possible, and will be closely monitoring the data on my machine to see how it goes.
