Question
Astral 150 Ventilator tech question
Hi All

As my conditions worsens i've been moved to a ResMed Astral Vent 150  for night (face face mask)/day (mouth piece) use plus cont flow O2 5-7LPM

as a software programmer I noticed this thing has an Ethernet jack on the back, any way I can make use of this? i;d love current status and any alarm state if possible
I don't mind hacking/sniffing/tracing packets and throwing the software together the problem I am facing is I do not a link light from the unit or the switch

resmed is VERY tight lipped about this port saying service use only......:p

has any one does anything with this port? to make it link eg speed/duplex/etc and IP settings if any?

If I cant find any real answers for this I am going to break out the USB port on the external modem and capture it, thing is I need real time data for caregivers which I am going to throw up on a wall mounted monitor

Any thoughts sugestions would be useful
and telling me "its for service use only isn't" Smile don't give up that easy!
Its there for a reason and I wanna know why........

Thank you
Jer

I don't know if OSCAR supports Astral Vent 150, download it and check for yourself. If it does not you could contact bonjour or any of the OSCAR team members and together you could add the support to OSCAR, since you're a programmer.

RE: Astral 150 Ventilator tech question
AFAIK Oscar doesn't support the Astral as it's a fairly specialised machine. Crowtor's suggestion is a good one. On the other hand ResScan does support the Astral and is available from our private files and links forum: http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Forum-P...-and-Links

However Jer wants to run a wall-mounted real-time monitor which is not (again AFAIK) supported by the machine. There are two USB ports, one of which will take a USB stick for ResScan data and the other is a mini-usb which allows connection of an external 3G modem to send data to Resmed's cloud applications. The ethernet port is "for service only" according to the clinical guide but that may be the means of connecting real time - if only somebody knows the protocols.

Hi,

Have you finally found a way to get the data from the USB or ETH?

Data from usb isn’t real time thou it’s batched every so offen as it’s expected to be connected to a modem and if you have one you need to MITM using usb breakout/capture
If you need/want real-time you need eth

What are you trying todo or have done/tried this far?

RE: Astral 150 Ventilator tech question
I do need to collect data pragmatically on a daily base avoiding as much as possible the download procedure performed manually by the user. The data from USB could be an accettabile solution; I am instead really concern to collect the data from the ETH since it is intended by the manufacturer only for service use by Resmed so I cannot assume it as an official way to get the data and in addition I cannot assume that at the next firmware release data will still be available and structured in the same way.

I’ve tried 3 firmwares and no data difference chances but add of autoepap setting yes it’s mfg only but that’s to stop you from using it

It’s not plug and play there is no ip addressing etc
For usb it will work as long as the user doesn’t have an RCM connected
