[Equipment] CLOGGED AIRWAY

CLOGGED AIRWAY
Clogged Airway: Whenever I have a clogged airway because of sinus problems, I encounter issues  using the P10 nasal mask. The airflow manages to get through the clogged nasal passages, however, I later find myself breathing through my mouth. I also encounter a bit of an issue trying to fall asleep. Also, when I wake up I notice that the upper part of my nasal cavity is slightly painful and uncomfortable. The P10 nasal mask works great as long as you do not have a clogged nasal passage.

RE: CLOGGED AIRWAY
Have you tried increasing your humidity settings when you have more clogged sinus passages? Perhaps your humidity settings could use a bump up in general, especially if currently set to Auto. The P10 is actually really good at keeping nasal passages open, as long as your humidity settings are high enough and you aren't completely plugged up (no air getting through your nose at all.)

RE: CLOGGED AIRWAY
Sounds like post-nasal drip. Easiest solution is to increase intake of liquids (water), to make clearing your throat easier http://www.webmd.com/allergies/postnasal-drip#1 http://www.entnet.org/content/post-nasal-drip

You may also find it helps to keep a good head, neck alignment to improve your airway and make swallowing easier. Avoid chin tucking, use a pillow or soft cervical collar to support the neck.

RE: CLOGGED AIRWAY
Hi gripoll29,
WELCOME! to the forum.!
Another thing you could try, is to do a sinus rinse before bed and see if that would help you.
NeoMed makes a squeeze bottle and it comes with salt packets that you put in water and rince your sinuses with it.
Good luck to you with your CPAP therapy.
