I bought a couple of new masks off a major auction site. When they arrived the masks did appear brand new but the head straps were marked ' sleep lab use only'. They came from separate sellers and were about a third of the retail price. I have been using them and they have been excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to buy more and probably will when I need them.
Something unknown is doing we don't know what.
