[Equipment] HUMIDIFIER
#1
HUMIDIFIER
I have COPD, so when I got Covid, the doctor suggested turning up the heat on the humidifier for more moisture to keep my lungs clear.  This worked for a couple of weeks, but the added load to the system burned out the heating element.

Where can I find a replacement (or a stand-alone) humidifier to keep me from clogging up?
I know the heater is replaceable, but I have no idea where to get replacement parts.  So
that's why I'm looking for a new unit.  Yeah, if I can get a new heater parts, I'm game to try
to replace the heating element.

I use a Resmed Escape II.  But again - a stand-alone unit would be acceptable.

Sure, I could go to the doctor and get a prescription.  But that's 3 months away, and my nasal
passages would be fried by then.

Thanks for your input

RE: HUMIDIFIER
OK broken record Dave with Fisher and Paykel. They'd have accessory humidifiers that maybe can do the job. I say maybe because I'm not familiar with the old 8 series PAP.

Second thought maybe it's needful to replace the PAP to get a newer model.

COPD with any illness isn't a good state, take care.

RE: HUMIDIFIER
By standalone unit, do you mean a room type humidifier??? They are readily available on Amazon, or your local pharmacy may carry them.
I use a whole house humidifier as well as the built in humidifier in my Airsense 10.

RE: HUMIDIFIER
PS to clarify my first answer, F&P have stand alone PAP type humidifiers that have standard PAP hose type inlet/outlets.

RE: HUMIDIFIER
Glad to help. It's similar to what a ventilator may use but this one is for PAP. I think it's somewhat on the lines of what the 9 series ResMed may have used.
