RE: Heated hose setting
Depends on what size hose you have.

RE: Heated hose setting
If it's a heated hose on a Respironics machine the machine will set tube diameter etc automatically when the heated hose is plugged in.

RE: Heated hose setting
I was just curious, what would be the setting for (flex or flex +) and the corresponding value.
My machine says "AFlex" but when you go to setup it will ask if "None, CFlex or Flex +", and the value. I am a little confused about that. The hose does not heat much and gets colder through the night. I was thinking that maybe I have the wrong settings. Thanks again

If your machine says aflex it is an auto machine. However if it's only offering you cflex setting or none your auto machine has been set to run as a single pressure cpap machine. Aflex will not appear on the menu when the machine is set that way. Cflex is a plain flow based exhalation relief mode. It does not taper off the pressure at the top of your inhalations Cflex plus works exactly the same as aflex does and tapers off the pressure a bit at the top of inhalation as well as reducing the exhalation pressure depending on flow rate. 1 is the least relief and a quicker timing. 3 is the most exhalation relief and slowest timing. Personally I see no reason to run an auto machine in single pressure mode. But that is your choice based on preference. If you set it to auto flex will become Aflex. Concerning you heated hose. When you plug it into the machine the machine will automatically set hose diameter to 15 and the little wave icon will change from blue to orange. Your humidity settings become 1 2 or 3 in patient set up. Your knob numbers become the levels of heat setting for the hose. 1 is the least heat and 5 is the max. At 5 the hose will heat to 4 degrees above the rooms temperature. Hope this clears things up a bit for you. |
