[Equipment] Oxygen Concentrator Choices
#1
Question
Oxygen Concentrator Choices
I use a combination of a CPAP with an oxygen concentrator. The result of a test says that without the oxygen concentrator, my blood oxygen goes low, but it does not stay low for very long. Because it does not stay low for long, the insurance no longer wants to pay rental for the oxygen concentrator. Since I still desaturate, I am thinking of buying a concentrator and paying for it myself.
  • I need 3 liters continuous oxygen.
  • I would prefer a relatively portable machine, maybe under 35 pounds so I can move it. I don't need to wear it.
  • Quiet would also be nice.
  • Filters that are easy to clean out would be nice.
  • What is the experience with different brands and models of machines? Does a reliable website do comparisons?
  • What is the experience with different places to buy machines from? Should I shop locally?
  • What is the experience with whether a new machine is worth the extra cost, or whether used is good enough?
  • About how much do these things cost? Can I buy a new but discontinued model?
  • Should I buy maintenance on the machine?

Thanks.
