Philips DreamStation CPAP
I am noticing that my Philips DreamStation CPAP machine has some play from side to side at the base of the air outlet port. The air outlet port is where the hose attaches. Mine swivels just fine like it's supposed to, but wonder if you would look at your unit and let me know if yours has some play from from side to side, or if it's completely tight at the base.
Sincere thanks in advance!

RE: Philips DreamStation CPAP
That is normal, I have had a few DreamStations (loaners, replacement machines), and they all have this. It should not leak air though.

RE: Philips DreamStation CPAP
Thanks so much. I was hoping that was the answer! And it definitely does not leak.

I was surprised at how cheap the DreamStation felt. The plastic seems pretty thin all around and the hose attach area does have play in it.

That's it! Thank you.
Thanks for your feedback.

Actually, I had the opposite impression. I was impressed (and still am) by what a piece of quality technology it is in such a relatively small, lightweight yet robust package. It even survived a summer of being banged around traveling throughout Europe with nary a problem.

Mine feels sturdy too. That said, I was relieved to hear from those of you who replied to my question about the play around the hose intake attachment area.

Agreed ... tough as nails. Beat them up nightly, crush/drag around in luggage, etc.

I had a closer look last night. The part that has play/slop in it is outside of the silicone seal in the lid. The seal, er, seals around the tube carrying the air. That is why there is no leak from this.
