The correct answer to that question is NO!!!  How do you think they would have liked that answer?

The correct question should have been "have you been compliant at least  21 of last 30 days...?"

It is turned off all the time here as they tell you to switch it off at the wall.
We have a switch and not just a plug. So they never see what you are doing unless they ask for the data card.
It has a mobile network card in it, but it is not used in most of the UK.

I leave the modem in and don't mind if they look at it. The sleep doctor said nothing but good things about my compliance and I don't think the DME cares so long as I keep telling them to ship a mask every month and filters too. I have good insurance and I count my blessings. I don't mind RFI, I work with much more terrible things to be concerned about rather than a few more signals propagating through me.

Maybe I upset the money making cart or something. After Walla Walla's reminder of possible OTA updates, I turned mine back on.

True. I guess the typist didn't get the phrase from the phone verbatim. In other words, I didn't type the sentence correctly. But, they did say it as your correct version indicates.

Chastised, whipped, beaten, and otherwise flogged mercilessly with 20 wet noodles, I'll now retire for the evening, with a new coffee I'm trying; Newman's Own Organic Special Decaf.

RE: Poll: How many turn airplane mode ON after compliance?
I do not activate airplane mode on my A10. Initially, I thought it would be a problem having it on. Before I discovered this forum (and how to change the settings myself), my DME had to make changes to my settings via the cellular system. I changed insurance companies recently and the DME didn't seem to have me on their radar any longer anyway. I saw the pulmonary specialist that prescribed my machine and he just asked how I was doing. I see my GP regularly and she only asks how I'm doing, as well.

I verify my settings every Sunday along with my data. If I found anything changed, I would certainly make sure it couldn't happen again.

RE: Poll: How many turn airplane mode ON after compliance?
My insurance doesn't require compliance. My DME tried to tell me they do; but I called my insurance company and they said they don't, because "if we required compliance, nobody would have a CPAP" (in other words, they recognize their patients need the machine, even if they aren't able to use it consistently).

So from day 1, I pulled out the modem and turned on airplane mode.  :-)

I use airplane mode for 2 reasons:
- I don't care for anyone to have my information, nor tweak my machine, without my knowledge and consent.
- I don't sleep well when exposed to EMF radiation (wi-fi, cellular data, Bluetooth, etc.).  It gives me headaches, brain fog, etc.

If my insurance company did require compliance, I was prepared to tell my DME that I'd be glad to send/give them my memory card as needed.  I also figured I could turn off airplane mode (and insert the modem) for a moment (an hour?), allow them to access it in that moment, and then turn airplane mode back on... maybe once a month or so.  I was prepared to negotiate in order to get my way. I would be UNwilling to sleep next to a machine not in airplane mode.

RE: Poll: How many turn airplane mode ON after compliance?
I leave mine in airplane mode almost all of the time, because I don't want it transmitting near me while I'm sleeping.

Periodically, when I'm about to leave the room, I'll turn airplane mode off for a day to see if there are any software updates.  Otherwise, airplane mode is on all the time.

Thanks to all who have chimed in thus far. All seem valid points for your individual decision to turn Airplane on or off. Nice to view various reasons to doing or not doing.
