I'm new to your forum
I just wanted to drop a note to you all. I have used CPAP/Autopaps since August of 1999, so i can give you 14 years of horror stories. Also my wife and daughter are Sleep Techs. In the past 14 yrs I have been lucky enough to be able to beta test interfaces for most of the major manufactures (0ver 40 interfaces in all). I ran the AWAKE group at Chester County Hospital in Pa. for 5 years.
You have a great site here. I used to be a chat host with the old [[ Auto Word Filter: links to DME-owned sites not allowed ]] site which is now pretty much gone. I was away for 2 years and checked into your sight today. I want to thank the supplier of the RESCAN program as I have just gotten an S9 Autopap which I've used for the past 2 weeks. I have a collection of CPAPs and Autopaps. My autopaps Are an old Autoset T (still in working order), an S8 Autopap which I used up until 8 weeks ago and of course my new S9. My Cpaps are older Resmed and Respironics units.
Tonight I will be testing either Aloha or the Pilairo nasal pillows. I have been using an Activa nasal mask for the past 4-5 yrs. I'll have to look thru my files but at one point i had a list of all the interfaces I tested, when I find it I'll post it on the board here.
Keep up the good work. Thanks

Hi Joseph Archibald and welcome
FYI, your S9 Autopap is either AutoSet or Escape Auto
Model name printed next to on/off button

S9 AutoSet is full data capable machine, Escape Auto is not

Welcome Joseph Archibald, I'm sure you have seen a lot of changes over the 14 years hopefully for the better. There are two lots of software you can use which are free to download, ResScan and Sleepyhead, even though I have both I prefer the look of Sleeyhead and usually just stick with that.

Hiho neighbor~! 12+ years here (can't seem to remember my beginning date exactly). Just that there was no 'forums' or data-capable machines back then, and what they used to set my CPAP looked like an old SU carb balancer Smile

I've only recently decided to actually learn about what has helped greatly at improving my daily life - I was found to have OSA after my resting heart rate got stuck at 122 and couldn't be brought lower. Fast forward to now, off most of the heart meds (except Bystolic) and resting HR is now around 75.

My machine is an Autoset EPR. Last night I tried out the Pilairo nasal pillows, very nice interface. I'll use the Pilairo again tonight and and do a download and check on the leakage of this interface.

Also the LCD sleep report would give you a quick review of the data ... leak, pressure, AHI. Unlike other machines report total leak, S9 subtract mask vents leak rate (intentional leak) from total leak and report net unintentional leak (mask plus mouth leaks).
Leak at or below 24 L/m (below leak graph red line) is an acceptable leak . The mask fit feature allows you to test mask fit prior treatment ... green happy face indicate good fit, red sad face is not

Edit: Whenever you change mask type you need also to change mask setting on the machine to match mask type, for example Full Face for full face mask as shown in the link below but might be slight difference as non-Resmed masks have different intentional leak rates than Resmed masks
