That is bizarre... not sure where you are but if you're in the U.S., I'm pretty sure that most health care companies have to follow Medicare guidelines at a bare minimum for CPAP machines, masks & filters... yes, you might have varying out-of-pocket expenses and deductibles based upon what plan you signed up for, but for them to tell you that "it's not covered at all for two years" sounds very suspect. Thinking-about

Now, if you're outside the U.S., then I have no clue what is policy for your country.

I'm up in the Great White North. Just outside of Vancouver, actually. I'm with Pacific Blue Cross.

I agree that the two year statement seems a little much but it was all I could get out of the one representative. I'll update when I phone again and get a second opinion.

I don't know how Blue Cross works up there, but in the USA you can go online & view exactly what your plan does cover.

I find that much more accurate than relying on whoever answers the phone at Blue Cross nowing what your plan covers.
Using the ResMed Mirage SoftGel Nasal Mask with a chinstrap

I do not use either the Ramp nor the EPR Comfort features

Have been on CPAP since December 1998

This is my 3rd machine

I use the ResMed ResScan Software (Version 3.16)

If I look at my plan it simply lists "CPAP Machine & Supplies" with a note of "Doctor's note required." It makes no mention of time frames or dollar values. It's a rather vague listing and you're told to contact the CSR for further information.

Call your Blue Cross insurer & have them E-Mail, fax, or mail you their "Replacement Schedule" for CPAP consumables.
