[Equipment] When is it time to let go (mask cushion)

When is it time to let go (mask cushion)
Contrary to what the DME recommends for mask cushion replacement intervals, I'm a Northern Yankee that keeps and uses stuff 'til it's either lost or broke. I use an F&P Vitera full face mask and have been using the same one for a long, long time and give it regular washings to keep it sparkly clean and fresh. The mask cushion silicone part is not discolored, is still pliant, doesn't leak, and seems to form to my face well. What kind of longevity should I expect of the mask cushion and what should I be looking for as the criteria as when to retire it? Is there a not so obvious reason to replace it? The headgear is easy to know when to replace and the mask frame shouldn't wear out.

As long as you get a good seal and there's no leaking, continue using it.

However, I advise you have at least one put aside for a backup.

I have found this out also. if you keep stuff clean and it works then no sense into replacing it. The foam Cushions are the only things that I replaced so far. but keep them clean and they last awhile. I keep an extra one of things just in case it breaks but that it. I think it's more of a money thing. that's how they make money and its crazy when they want you to sign up for auto resupply.
