I assume you,re using an S8 Elite, as the humidifier listed in your user profile is "Humidaire 3"
All explained in the clinical manual, available via email, the link at the top of the page "CPAP Setup Manuals"

Whats your CPAP pressure?
Are you using Expiratory Pressure Relief (EPR) ... EPR drop pressure at exhalation by 3 levels (1,2,3), level 3 is the maximum

for example if CPAP pressure is 12 and EPR level set at 3
Exhale pressure drop by 3 cmh20 and you breathe out at 9 (instead of 12 without EPR enabled)
