Error
I've just installed ResScan 2.8 on a computer running Win10.
When starting the program, I'm getting this error-message:
"Pure virual function called" and the program ends.
How to work around this?

RE: Error
Hello
Sorry, none of the suggested methods worked.
Something has happened to Windows 10!!
I have the program also installed on a laptop. It worked earlier, but now, after a win update, I get the same error on that PC when trying to run an older and the new version of ResScan.
Very annoying.

RE: Error
I recently had the same problem with other software as well.  Windows activated a security rule that prevents any unsigned service or program from executing.  It took me nearly 8 hours to locate the fix.   I will have to dig into my notes to get the disable procedure to see if it may help.

RE: Error
I found it faster than I anticipated.  You will need to reinstall ResScan after you disable Driver signing. I hope it may help.

If you're running UEFI in Secure Boot Mode:
To Disable UEFI Secure Boot:
  1. Right-Click Start-> Settings -> Update & Security -> Recovery -> Advanced Startup -> Restart Now
  2. Troubleshoot -> Advanced Options -> UEFI Firmware Settings
  3. Secure Boot -> Disable -> Apply

RUN "CMD" As Administrator:
Steps To run a command prompt As Administrator!
Win 7: Windows Key + R -> type: cmd -> CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER
Win 8/8.1/10: Windows Key -> type: cmd -> CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER.

Steps To DISABLE "Driver Signing" (so you CAN install UNSIGNED Drivers):
  1. Disable "Integrity Checks".
  2. Enable "Test Mode".
  3. Restart your System.
Copy-Paste code to install unsigned drivers:
bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON
shutdown /r /t 0

# above commands will:
   "DISABLE Integrity checks" so unknown drivers could be installed.
   Allow "Test" signatures.
   Restart your computer.

Steps To ENABLE "Driver Signing" (so you CAN'T install UNSIGNED Drivers):
  1. Enable "Integrity Checks".
  2. Disable "Test Mode".
  3. Restart your System.
Copy-Paste below code:
bcdedit -set loadoptions ENABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING OFF
shutdown /r /t 0

# above commands will:
   "Enable Integrity checks" so unknown drivers won't be installed.
   Disable/Disallow "Test" signatures.
   Restart your computer.
