Events not being tracked as an event

Question
Events not being tracked as an event
I woke up a few times in the morning with mild apnea events. When I went to look at the data in OSCAR it said I had had only 1 event around midnight. But when I had a closer look at the flow rate I was able to see an interruption on the flow rate which should have been noted as an event. Anyone know why this is happening? Thanks in advance!

It didn't cross the 10-second minimum threshold to be scored as an event.

Interesting. That makes sense. Is there any way for this threshold to be changed? These events wake me up, especially in the early morning.

I believe you can change the threshold in OSCAR, but I don't know why you'd want to. Events like that may just be a reaction to you waking up. As you adapt you likely either sleep through them or if you awaken you'll have no memory of it. If you're looking for a perfect record that shows every awakening as an event, or even every event as an awakening, that's just not realistic.

There are user defined flags in OSCAR.  I don't believe they are added to your AHI because they are not defined by the CPAP.  This would be considered as altering its data.

It can be a 2-step process to set it up, with the 2nd step being optional.
Go to File ⇾ Preferences ⇾ CPAP tab, select the option on the left, Custom CPAP User Event Flagging.  Set one or both and set them to the limits you wish to flag.

Step #2 - Optional - Select the Events tab and look for the User Flag# name.  You can rename these parameters to a more descriptive name here.  Just enter your new label name in the Label column.  As an example, when I used them in the past, I used labels like, 20%@8 sec.  This will provide an easy clue as to the events they are reporting.

Remember to press the OK button and not the Cancel button to exit the Preferences menu.
