Feedback on my Data
Hey Guys,

I am a new member and I am glad that I found this forum. I am using my Icon Auto machine from past few weeks and I would like to get your feedback on the data. I am particularly interested in Flow Limitation index.

Here is the image : https://imgur.com/a/pp9Ui

Please share your opinions about it. And also I would like to get feedback on Icon Auto as well.

Thanks,
RK

RE: Feedback on my Data
I would try min 11 and max 14. To see if that cleaned up the flow limitation and remaining oa/h. I don't know but an CA may be flagged as oa or H? but someone here will.
this is a good intro video

you can get the clinical manual from this link, scroll down the page.

this is basic how to.
"Fisher & Paykel ICON Auto, Premo & Novo: Start from the 12 o'clock position of the Home Screen. Press and hold the button in the middle of the SmartDial, and use your other hand to turn the SmartDial in a clockwise direction until you return to the 12 o'clock postion. Do not release the Smart Dial button while turning. Turn the SmartDial back (counter clockwise) one position while still holding down the button and the settings in the Clinician Menu will appear. You can now release the SmartDial button. NOTE: The Clinician Menu will default back to the Patient Menu after 30 seconds, or if the unit is turned off at the power supply. You can manually exit the Clinician Menu by repeating the instructions to enter the menu. "

For auto-cpap, from machine data or software. You can set the min pressure 1 or 2cm below 95%. Or clinicians commonly use the maximum or 95% pressure for fixed pressure CPAP, this can also be used for min pressure.

Can mouth leak affect flow limitation? I am not sure how much leak happening through my mouth. If it is then I will probably go with full face mask. I am using nasal pillows now.

Do you mouthbreath much? The chart you put up looked ok. All I saw was a bit of a mask leak with pressure that may need some adjustment? I think like the philips, the icon shows total leak, both unintended and intended for anti afixiation. So the leak rate will look more than a resmed chart.

Good luck with CPAP therapy and finding a full-face mask, (FFM,) that works well for you.

I don't think I mouth breath much because I didn't have any dry mouth in the morning. probably I will watch for next few nights. I have another question, in my sleep study report they did not mention anything about central apnea and they just referred a CPAP machine for my moderate to severe sleep apnea. How ever I would like to see if I had any CA events. But on my Sleepyhead report I did not see anything related to CA. Does Icon+ Auto record CA index? If it won't support what are the good ones I can try?

RE: Feedback on my Data
It's nothing to be concerned about, you have an AHI under 2. As you said, anything would have shown up in the first sleep study.
I just noticed that the icon doesn't have a Clear airway CA or UA readout. I was guessing that any ca or ua would be included in the OA or the H. I thought someone who read your thread might have known or it may be in the clinical manual? It was curiosity.

are you renting or trialling this machine? There was a comparison test that included the icon, it came up alright from memory. (here's the link http://openres.ersjournals.com/content/1/1/00031-2015 ) the icon was a good machine.)
If you are going to buy a machine, I'd lean towards resmed, even though the 10 can have a seal problem with the humidifier, as the philips dreamstation can too.

It may be that CA doesn't show up in the events chart until you actually have a CA. I've seen something like that in other machines. Once the event occurs than it creates a row for it in the event chart.
