First night

RE: First night
Thanks for the kind words everyone. I'm just glad this board exists. I didn't get much information from my doc, the sleep study, or the DME. The doctor didn't even call me to let me know the results, or that I was being prescribed anything. I just got a call from the DME saying I need to order a bi-level. If it wasn't for the board and all you fine folks, I would be lost.

I managed to find a quattro air fitment chart today and print it off. I'm in a large, and should have been in a medium. I might call them and have them swap me out.

RE: First night
So, after 3 more nights, I'm having trouble keeping the mask on. The first night I took it off on purpose. The next two nights, I woke up middle of the night and I had taken it off without remembering/knowing.

My AHI in my sleep study was around 50, and the times I'm asleep are averaging 3.

In 3 nights (limited data) I've had 1 OA, 1 A, and 50 CAs. The CAs are what's kiling me. Mostly when I'm trying to go to sleep, about the time I "nod" off, I wake back up. I've checked the clock as this is happening, and correlated it to some of the CAs in sleepyhead. However, some of the CAs were while I was sleeping as well.

So far, I can go to sleep, get a few hours in, the mask comes off. I wake up, realize it's off, put it back on. Then I can never really get back to sleep good, I just start to nod off, CA, start to nod off, CA, nod off, CA. It's pretty frustrating.

I really want to fiddle with the pressure/PS, since it was a WAG at the pressure to begin with. However, I've read that CAs are fairly common with new people, especially with higher pressure, so I'm assuming I should give it a few weeks before considering fiddling with anything.

RE: First night
Everything I read says any pressure change people should wait a couple weeks to see how it affects your therapy and NOT to change pressure nightly based on how you feel.

For me my CA events happen only during deep sleep phases. If I am reading in bed or an hour after I fall asleep my AHI is usually 0 and then all hell breaks lose when I go into REM sleep when I look at the data.

50 seems really high though, how are your leak numbers?

Of the 3 nights I have any data for, the first two nights were with Quattro Air, and the leaks were around 8-9avg. Last night was my first night on the Mirage Quattro, and the leak was around 4, spikes of around 9 at times.
