First time user, few questions

First time user, few questions
What is the big gush of air that forces down in the morning? It's ok throughout the night.

Am I meant to be able to also breathe through my nose? The mask is a nose and mouth one and I think the mask isn't allowing it. I have the largest one that was available.

How long until it works and I feel better?

Okay, what?

Big gush of air where? Forces down what?

Yes, you are to breathe down your nose or your mouth with the full face mask. That's the benefit of that kind of mask. Is it somehow pinching your nose shut? Or do you feel there is a blockage inside that it is blowing shut, like some sort of trap door?

How long it takes to feel better is hard to answer. Some people feel better immediately. Some it takes much longer.

Hi Kaine,
WELCOME! to the forum.!
For some people, it takes quite a while before they start to feel better and others start feeling better right away.
Sometimes it also takes many different masks 'till you find what works best for you. So if you are having a difficult time with your mask, don't be shy about asking to try different ones.
Hang in there for more responses to your post and much success to you with your CPAP therapy.

I can tell you it took me 3 months to feel better, but the difference is night and day. I am so grateful. What symptoms are you having? Maybe some of us can relate

Like Paula, I still want to know about this big gush of air and what it forces down in the morning.

Kaine,
Are you talking about the air you feel whe you first take mask off?
That is the same pressure of air you are breathing all night except you don't
hear or notice it unless there is a leak.

As far as feeling better...you could notice it after first night or it could take several weeks. Everyone is different, but hang in there...it will happen!
