FlashPAP - FlashAir WiFi SD card utility
RE: FlashPAP - FlashAir WiFi SD card utility
I finally succeeded!

What helped me? Reading the little orange ? popups on Sleep Master. First, it suggested reserving an IP address for it based on the MAC address of the Flashair, so I set that up in the router. But I still couldn't connect. And then one of the popups said that the Flashair used WPA-2 security. I had left the router/access point with no security because the wifi signal wouldn't go far enough for anyone but me to connect to it anyway, and I thought no security would eliminate one possible problem in connecting. So I changed the security in the router to WPA-2, et voilà! Once it connected the Flashair card mounted automatically.

Not to throw cold water on my success, but I am wondering how to refresh it to get the latest data files. I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow morning when it has more data on it to figure that out.

Either SleepMaster or FlashPAP will automatically download the days that aren't in your PC folder.

For: SleepMaster, select the user, if not already selected.  In the upper right, under actions, select "Download Sleep Data".

For FlashPAP:  Select the user, if not selected.  Press "Scan FlashAir SD card". Finally, select, "Copy xPAP for selected date(s)".

I hope this may help.

I have both FlashPAP and Sleep Master, but they will have to wait a bit. I have a networking problem to solve first. My bedroom is too far from my computer for the Flashair to connect so I bought and set up a cheap router to use as an access point. I have that working and it is what the Flashair connects to, but I have it still in the room with my computers because there is something wrong with the ethernet jack in the bedroom. It will take some time to figure it out.

Bummer!

Edit: If your router supports being a repeater, then you don't need the RJ-45 jack. It will receive the FlashAirs's weaker signal and send it back out as a stronger signal.

To be clear, I am not trying to compete with the other program (they are both free) but rather I'm just offering an alternative.  My original intent was just to make it for myself but as I continued to use it I decided to add some customization options and share it with others.

It is 100% free to use with no catches and it runs on Java (7 or above) so it should work with Windows, Mac and Linux so long as Java is installed, and it usually already is.

It supports multiple users and also command line switches that allow you to run the program in an automatic mode.  For SleepyHead users, there is also a command line switch that will run SleepyHead and automatically import the new data as well.

See the included ReadMe.txt file for more information on how to use the command line switches.

It has been personally tested with my ResMed AirSense 10 and although not tested with the ResMed S9, I made some minor tweaks for it based on information I have gathered from this forum and elsewhere on the web.

I can add other brands/models if someone could kindly provide me with more information on how the folders and files are organized on the SD card.  Theoretically it should work with any machine capable of using a FlashAir II SD card, but it will require me to make some minor modifications in order to add support for a different model.  I'd be happy to do this for anyone interested.

The program requires no installation.  The download is a zip file which can be unzipped to your desktop or anywhere else on your computer.  Just double-click the FlashPAP.jar file to run it.

For now at least, there is no provision for assisting in setting up the FlashAir II SD card, but rather it is assumed that you already have that part working.

RE: FlashPAP - FlashAir WiFi SD card utility
While I'm not TiredToo, I'll try to answer your question.  There are ways to do it but would require a good investment in computers, equipment and configuration to achieve this.  That's why I  would say the simplest answer is, "Maybe".

Your idea would involve having a static IP address at her residence in China, a wireless router, software configuration for remote connection or a VPN and a computer.  Her CPAP will have be be less than 29.5 feet (9 meters) from the wireless access point. The best way would to have FlashPAP set up on a local computer at her residence, having it set to automatically query the CPAP for data, and you remote access into the computer to download the data.  If you are not network knowledgeable, and to be feasible economically, this would make a excellent project for an IT (senior) student

It's a good idea but quite involved.

Good luck.

RE: FlashPAP - FlashAir WiFi SD card utility
Crimson pretty much summed it up for you.  VPN would probably be the most ideal (and private/secure) solution.

Regardless of how you choose to connect to her remotely, you would have to set up DDNS for her.  There are several places that provide this as a free service such as here: https://www.noip.com/free.  Since public IP addresses usually change over time, DDNS provides a way of connecting to a remote network using a hostname rather than an IP address.  The service keeps a record of which IP address the hostname points to.  So for example, to get to her network over the internet you may use something like http://mymom.no-ip.org, similar to how you would go to a website.

Any of the solutions would definitely require some technical savvy on your end and hers to get it working.

yes, that's what i am thinking, I will let my mom insert sd card to her laptop, then i teamviewer to it. Handle email transfer the data over here.

Please see post #3, do you think it is doable? thank you

luckydxx, I have a question.  Let's say you are successful in setting up a remote connection, who is going to perform any required adjustments to her CPAP?
